Board of Appeals Public Notice

TOWN OF UNITY LEGAL NOTICE REGARDING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Town of Unity Board of Appeals will hold a public meeting and public hearing on October 27, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. at the Unity Elementary School Gymnasium, 84 School Street, Unity, ME. Please check the Town of Unity’s public notice board at its Town Office and the Town of Unity’s website for any updates on possible changes of location. The purpose of the meeting and public hearing on October 27, 2025 is to (1) conduct organizational activities regarding the Board of Appeals (e.g., elect a Chair and Secretary), and (2) address preliminary matters regarding an administrative appeal challenging a conditional approval of the Unity Planning Board of and concerning the application of Five Pillars Butchery House of Meat, LLC, located at 119 Bangor Road and involving Tax Map 13, Lots 11 and 11A in the Town of Unity, which was filed by the following appellants: Valarie Derosier, Michael French, Scott Freeman and Kathleen Powers. It is expected the public hearing will be continued to another date to address other matters regarding this administrative appeal.
