Notice of Public Hearing for Development Review Application and

Abutting Landowner Notice of Subdivision Application

The Town of Unity Planning Board will conduct a Public Hearing on March 26, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Snowdusters Snowmobile Club House located at 32 Fisher Road, Unity, Maine pursuant to a Development Review Application submitted by Hussam AlRawi and Kathryn Piper, DBA Five Pillars Butchery House of Meats to construct a 4,800 sq ft. slaughter house, two subsurface wastewater treatment systems, and an additional 14,667 sq. ft. of impervious surfaces at 119 Bangor Road, Map 13 Lot 11 and 11A. The applicants have also submitted an after-the-fact Lot Permit for a Subdivision (as defined in MRSA Title 30-A §4401) already created by a conveyance of land recorded in the Waldo County Registry of Deeds at Book 4921 Page 197 on July 25, 2023. This Lot Permit has been accepted as a Development Permit due to being a Subdivision and is being considered by the Planning Board concurrently with the slaughterhouse application. You are receiving this notice pursuant to MRSA Title 30-A §4403 (3) (A). A preliminary copy of the proposed development project and subdivision applications are available for public inspection at the Unity Town Office during normal business hours on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and Tuesday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Public Notice

The Unity Planning Board voted at its 2/26/2025 monthly meeting to have an on- site meeting at the proposed Five Pillars Butchery House of Meats project site at 119 Bangor Road, Unity, Maine on 3/12/2025 at 4:30 pm. The public also has the right to attend this meeting under the Freedom of Access Act.
